Although it is fun and fun is needed, what you want is for a team building to create an opportunity for teams to really open up to each other in a safe place and create real connection that will last after the « event ».
I accompany teams, either at their birth to set the right basis, or at a later stage (when things are not going so well) to develop vulnerability based trust. Once this starts living, we work on how the team functions, its dynamics and uncover its implicit pattern(s).
While doing so, it could happen that we discover that some people are not at the right place, that values don’t match, . When this happens, we need to address it and find what is best for everyone. Mismatching values can be one of the main reasons why the team doesn’t work well together. When values don’t match, all people involved suffer.
Developing new habits, learning new ways to communicate are part of the Team Building depending on what we uncover 🙂
